Internet Usage
The Internet is a massive collection of networks that allows the exchange of data to nearly anywhere in the world. By connecting to the Internet, the user is able to access services such as commerce, email, and data storage. In order to access these services, the computer connects to a smaller network within the company or home. Data is routed between the relevant servers and hosts to allow the user access. For businesses, hosting multiple servers for data storage, email, DHCP, etc is very expensive and risky. In order to save resources, the company may opt to use cloud computing services. Essentially, the company's servers are digitized enabling the server's contents to be accessed from anywhere. Cloud services also save resources by charging another company to run those servers professionally. Transferring the server responsibilities allows the company to focus more on the product or service rather than the backbone.
