Procedural Programming
Writing Code
There are two main kinds of programming: visual and text-based programming. Because programming is very complicated, it is much easier to create a visual outline of the code before the actual lines of code are placed. By creating a simple visual representation, the programmer can get an idea of what the program will do without worrying about proper coding syntax. Once the guidelines of the program have been made, the coder can then create the program using text.
Punctuation
Text-based programming requires specific syntax or punctuation to function. Proper punctuation allows code to have maximum clarity. The syntax used depends on the programming language used in the program. Some programming languages are more forgiving and easier to learn than others.
Mouse Interaction
Depending on the program being made, mouse interactions can be used to make the user experience more forgiving. This can be done using code that tracks the X and Y position of the cursor, if the cursor is near a specific object, or if a button is pressed. The actions preformed when a certain condition is filled depends on the purpose of the program.
Keyboard Interaction
Much like mouse interactions, keyboard interaction allows users to have better experience with a program. Unlike the mouse, the keyboard can only use buttons for interactions. Because the number of keys on the keyboard, there are many possibilities for interactions within a program. Keyboard interactions are specifically useful for searching or performing movement within a program.
